crazy people

I've been spending way too much time lately trying to figure out the motives of a couple of really annoying people I know. (If you are reading this, I am NOT talking about you.) In an unrelated bit of reading, I came across this:

Which is a series of anecdotes about abortion providers who found themselves providing to anti-choice people -- in some cases, to people who were picketing the clinic they got the abortion at. I mean, we knew they had to be out there because the numbers didn't make sense. But still - it's a little shocking to see it so raw.

And I gotta remember: sometimes, the crazy people are the crazy people, and expecting them to be kind, compassionate or, heck, even internally consistent over an hour at a time is asking too much of them.
