Mystery Veg Identification
Oct. 6th, 2013 08:09 pmA couple weeks ago, I was really excited to be in a great Asian grocery store. While there, I saw some unfamiliar vegetables, so I took a picture and figured I'd find out what they were. I have identified one of them!
I think this is "bitter melon", or Momordica charantia:

Still working on the second one; will likely edit this post. My strategy was to dig around in Chinese vegetables charts over on google images until I found a likely candidate, then visit the page, get the name, and look up the plant.

ETA: Aha! http://blogs.villagevoice.com/forkintheroad/2011/03/six_unusual_fru.php
I'll be back with a genus species momentarily.
