Sundays can be a little rough -- I just don't feel like I should have to be awake before 10 a.m., so having to be awake before 8 a.m. and juggling happy, energetic children feels wrong.

When it had warmed up a little, and the kids were clearly not a good match for Being Indoors, I took T. over to the neighbors to play on their playset (we LOVE our neighbors). Today, he was willing to go all the way across on the monkey bars that the swings are suspended from. He very systematically would climb the ladder, cross the bars, come down on the deck, go down the slide. Then he'd climb the climbing wall, go down the slide. Then he'd climb the rope ladder, go down the slide. Then he'd climb the regular ladder, go down the slide. Lather, rinse, repeat. He needed a little spotting at each end of the bars, but less ever time; I think he could do it all by himself at this point, altho I'm not sure he's to the point where he would try it by himself.

Fun to watch! I'm glad I got to be the one to help him learn to do this. Best of all, he was using a little language as he did each thing, to describe it, which gave me an opportunity to suggest some more language, too.
