But right at this brief moment in time, it made me laugh really, really, really hard.

I amused you?

Date: 2010-09-29 03:40 pm (UTC)(1) Hey, someone is _tracking_ the futureware!
(2) You are tracking both things that are promised by vendors and things that are rumored by vendors or about vendors. And calling them Possible Myths
(3) That you are keeping the list up to date, and instead of just giving the current state of the list, indicating through the use of things like NEW and strikethrough what changes have occurred since the last list.
This is pretty funny all by itself -- not in a bad way. I think it's _fantastic_ (no sarcasm) that you are doing this. But it's so incredibly different from the way futureware was treated in the past (and in all too many other places right now), that the contrast is dissonant and as a result I laugh.
It's _also_ funny in terms of the exposure of vaporware and rumors that don't pan out (not necessarily apparent in this particular list, but potential in the tracking-over-time that you are doing).
I love to notice when people predict the future and then the future doesn't turn out that way, but people keep trusting those sources anyway. I especially love it when someone is doing an orderly and organized way of exposing that in a clear way.
It won't necessarily be funny to me 6 months from now, because the particular rumors and promises will have already resolved; I expect I'll still enjoy watching you update the list over time.
