mostly better

A. and I never did get sick; T. is mostly recovered. R. took himself to the hospital a little after midnight last night and returned between 6 and 7 a.m. after receiving IV fluids and under orders to rest for 12 hours. He no longer looks like he is about to die. This is the sickest I have ever seen him. I am extremely grateful he is getting better.

Oh, dear! Hope he's all the way better soon; that sounds awful.

the hiccups have returned

R. has this story of unending hiccups which were only fixed when he was prescribed thorazine (very low dose). It is a story he has been telling for at least 10 years. Unfortunately, he's got those back. And the thorazine is not obviously working this time. :( I guess the good news is that there are more treatment options if this doesn't work.

My dad had hiccups for some long period, at least a week, after his knee replacement (apparently it can also be a complication of recovery from major surgery). Not fun. I hope something works.
