Well, that plan is not working, altho BP hasn't given up on it yet.

They can keep calling the problem "methane ice" or slush or methane hydrate all they like. It's what I fear from Fred Pearce's book _With Speed and Violence_, however: a massive, near term additional source of greenhouse gas called methane clathrate.
Have we made it out of the first reel of this disaster movie yet? I'm sure hoping it's a Hollywood production so someone gets a happy ending. If it's an indy, it may yet wind up being the end of the world.
