not better than a poke in the eye
Jun. 9th, 2009 03:27 pmIt wasn't a sharp stick, it was part of a gate on the bottom of the stairway at our house in Brookline, NH. A gate I insisted be removed a while ago because I was afraid this would happen (the poke in the eye, part, since it is right about eye height for T.). I _thought_ that B. and R. had collectively concluded I was an overprotective idiot when they reinstalled it for dog control purposes. I now realize they either didn't know the reason or forgot.
So the next time you think I'm too much of a control freak? I'll be thinking of this incident and thinking I'm not control freaky enough.

turned out okay
Date: 2009-06-10 02:04 am (UTC)In any event, R. met B. at St. Joe's. R. concluded no worries, they left without registering and came home. Where, thank goodness, I had stayed with A. napping and waiting for the brownies in the oven, because guests arrived from the west coast shortly thereafter. Which had slipped my mind in the whole poke-in-the-eye panic.
We had a nice chat, then T. and R. joined us and we had take-out from Benjarong's and more nice chat and then they returned to where they're staying while out here and T. took a bath and then the children to bed. This whole kids in bed by 9 thing rocks. The getting up by or at 8 a.m. thing does not rock, but I guess that's pretty normal.
