Happy Solstice!

I'm sad not to be in Seattle Sunday night celebrating it with my friends on that coast. I hope the snow does not deter the festivities.

We were supposed to go to a solstice party in Greenlake, but it was too snowy/icy to get out. Could have walked, but it would have been about an hour each way, and there was a grandma and a young'un to consider. Also had to cancel a dinner party that would have been tomorrow night. So there goes most of our holiday socializing :(

The snow was at first dry fluffy stuff that would have been nice to ski on, but wasn't much good for snowmen, and then turned icy. Today it's proper snowman material, and very Christmas-card-y. Rotten for most of the merchants, but the local Ballard shops seem to be benefiting because no one can get to the mall.
