Kid looks pleased and excited to be held. Politician looks totally blissed out and _not_ in a creepy way. Dad in the background is having the moment of his entire life.

Really. It makes you understand that baby-kissing is in fact a reasonable electioneering activity.

I was pleased to find out I'm only two degrees from Obama (not all that surprising, considering his mom grew up largely in Seattle). One of his mom's high school teachers, Jim Wichterman, later taught at my high school. Of course Mr. W. is now getting stigmatized as a Marxist (which he was NOT, at all, and presumably still isn't). He was indeed a wonderful and inspiring teacher.

I was less pleased to find that many of the people who are happy to dig up "Marxist ties" for Obama, Hillary, et al. actually admire McCarthy. Oh, GOD. Happy days are here again ... not.
