Science fiction reference, multiple sources. I have not become a superior being of pure energy, all-knowing and wise and yet, still, somehow, inclined to help out the hapless and often overly violent protagonists.

Stargate SG-1 included ascension, but it's all over in written sf.

Basically, I'm not a god(dess) yet. ;-)

(IIRC, when I was first posting under this subject line with my first pregnancy -- no baby yet, not ascended yet, etc. -- Stargate had a big storyline going about Daniel's ascension.)

I don't remember ever seeing that usage in sf, but then I don't read a whole lot of it these days (though I still think of myself as a fan). I thought at first you'd had a brain fart and said "ascended" when you meant "engaged" or "dilated" or something ...
