I had already canceled my dentist appointment and A.’s school before getting on the flight. Go me.

I got a call from Stephens and sent them a photo of my license and gave them my credit card (I had wondered about this last night, but they have my car, so they don’t really need anything else from me). They towed the car up to Sudbury, and I left messages with Sudbury and eventually they called back. The video inspection confirmed all of what I suspected: 4 new tires needed because they were all bald. I will note that I probably would have been even more annoyed if I hit that thing with new tires and immediately needed to replace one.

Wheel bent and needs straightening — I’m still waiting for the bad news that it needs a new wheel and possibly worse. Fingers crossed.

And a mice nest in the frunk. I did not actually see that one coming.

I have never actually understood the whole “dealer service departments sell unnecessary services” thing, because it has not been my experience. OTOH, I mostly bought Hondas, Subarus and BMWs, so maybe it’s different at different makes. Oh, and in The Price Is Right adjacent observations, I had figured this whole thing was going to cost me at least $2500 (for the service part — the tow is already substantially less than I had anticipated) and the estimate is $2800. But I didn’t anticipate the mice nest, so there’s that. It’s also really tough for me to estimate tire prices without research right now with a war on that is blocking petro shipping. Crude spikes = tires are more expensive.

I got a notification of Wednesday therapy, which was unexpected because I had canceled that in favor of a school bowling outing which we probably will not go to. So I recanceled that due to illness.

ETA: It is an indication of how ill I am that I asked R. to make me dinner and I requested oatmeal.
