No playdate, because the other side had a dead battery while traveling. Communication occurred, which is nice!

I had an abbreviated chat with I. We may not get to do this for a bit because of upcoming schedule issues on both sides. We’ll have lots to talk about when we catch up next.

Family zoom happened, and R. actually participated in it for a bit. There was a lovely sunset. I got new, clean sheets on two beds. The pockets are a little too deep, but that’s fine, at least they aren’t too shallow and won’t crawl off the mattress. Woot! A.’s old bottom sheet is in the donation bag. I haven’t decided whether I’m keeping the pillow cases and top sheet or not (I don’t really know where the top sheet is — she uses a duvet).

I have leftovers for lunch from last night’s dinner: brussel sprouts, potato and ribs. Mmmmm.

R. ran the robot vac, so the downstairs floors are much less icky.

I got A. to take her shower and do some of her math homework before my walk with M. And she worked on the math a bit more later, after I trimmed her toenails. I took the phone away from her to get her to stop being distracted. I’m starting to wonder how much of her avoidance of everything is driven by avoidance of I’m Hungry / Thirsty / Need to Move Around by staring at her phone. Not great life choices, but possibly much more fixable than I had been thinking.

R. packed and we discussed how we’re getting him to the airport in a few days for an early flight. He’s going to attempt an uber, and if it fails, I can drive him in. Or he could drive himself in — there might actually be parking since it won’t be February or April vacation weeks. I may poke around at the parking reservation system.

We finally realized just how badly the mesh network is working in the master suite. That’s probably why the printer hasn’t worked without excessive fiddling for months. It’s why I’ve had to resort to using my cell phone as a hot spot to do some zooms in my bedroom. *sigh* When Verizon came out and upgraded the router and we got rid of cable and VoIP and so forth, a wifi access point was put in the basement. _THAT_ provides quite decent service in the master bedroom, less good in my office and the closet. R.’s going to move that access point upstairs to see if we can just get rid of our mesh network. So many speed tests. It was looking like it might be my iPad that had a problem, but it’s not — it’s general up to a point, and specifically quite bad on my iPad and the newer smaller iPad I bought but which I’m going to give to my sister since I never use it.

ETA:

I’ve been enjoying reading Best of Reddit Updated (thanks, K for telling me about this!). And while reading, I learned about the Peder Pederson’s lego indy jones short. Very fun and can be watched here: https://pederpedersen.com/portfolio/lego-indiana-jones-and-the-raiders-af-the-lost-brick
