An almost completely normal Friday
Feb. 27th, 2026 11:00 pmI had a Dutch lesson after I dropped A. off at school! Very fun.
I had a phone call with K. while making lunch. Also, very fun!
I had a walk and visit with M., after lunch. Again, fun!
I did an evening cocktail zoom with friends. Again, very fun!
My sister called — I love my sister and consistently enjoy talking with her — and her family had a Big Discussion. The kids decamped after a bit to let the older generation talk it out, and it was a little scary but cathartic, and fingers crossed tomorrow will bring good next steps. Change processes are hard, and some people don’t really have a conscious change process of their own. If your history of change is uniformly traumatic, why would you want more of that? But this is a good one, and I think it will all work out.
ETA: During the evening, I was also having a really weird — content was weird, social aspect of interaction with BC was, as always consistently awesome — text exchange about the Dowhatever we call it now’s feud with Anthropic. I figured, meh, we’ll know Monday or later what actually lands in the Federal Register, but if those posts on X are anything to go by, it’ll be chaotic, for sure.
