Catching up with myself

walkitoutI did some catch up blogging today. I had ontbijtspek and the bread from the bakery for breakfast. Yummy, the best of two worlds. The storm really did produce a massive amount of snow, so A.’s school is virtual again today. I’ve been texting with R.’s niece A. about some ancestry stuff because she’s doing a genogram. It’s been a fun conversation, thinking about the extended family with someone so kind and sensible.
We’re off to Grand Case for lolos; I’m aiming for the ribs I think. Dinner is at Villa Hibiscus. Tomorrow we’re going to try to go snorkeling.
ETA:
I had lunch at the No 6 rib shack. I got ribs, cold slaw and french fries. I was not successful in getting johnny cake, but that’s fine I was full anyway. We were perched in a corner behind the ladies cooking so they just handed us our plates. The view was unparalleled. Very fun!
We got the 6 course tasting dinner at the Villa Hibiscus and split a glass of rose and a glass of bordeaux. Both were really good. Dessert included a hazelnut cookie that seemed very like the food processor cookies I made, and mine came with julienned apple and apple sorbet. Very yummy, very enjoyable. Beautiful building — an architecturally designed versions of the rambling shacks among shade plantings so characteristic of the islands.
