Wednesday I took the packing seriously

walkitoutI got sucked into a really weird side quest involving Should I Worry About the Radon Levels In Our Future Well. Every once in a while, I have to gauge the risk/reward of something that’s really confusing and it takes a while to orient myself. That happened to me years ago with radiation associated with some granite countertops. In the end, it comes down to me asking the question: sure, but how many people a year died in a way that is attributable to that cause. That brings clarity. Especially when I compare it to other things I do, like driving a car.
I decided that my over a quarter century old snorkel had bad things going on with the plastic / vinyl / silicone parts, and ordered a new one (black, so I at least won’t see the yellowing). I did this, because I concluded that I really did have the space in my luggage for the snorkel kit (mask, fins, snorkel). I may change my mind about this (good odds, but the gross factor on rental swim fins and snorkel is relatively high). Since it is supposed to arrive in time, and since I’d been looking at some of my common items to pack and realized they were really showing a lot of wear, I did some additional shopping. In theory, a purple version of my snap valet tray will be arriving soon. Woot!
I had a long phone call with J.
I had a nice visit with M. We did not walk because it was really, really cold today.
I did laundry, including a load of towels.
There was some other stuff, too, but mostly I was happy to get a lot of sleep. It’s nice going to bed early.
