Saturday is pleasant and mostly calm

It’s not totally calm, because Priestess had a date that went really great until it didn’t, and that is incredibly sad and upsetting. 100% did not see that coming.
It’s not totally calm, because a relative died. She was the older half sister of my dad’s brother’s kids, and I never knew her (as in, I have no specific recollection of ever having met her, even tho I’m fairly certain that I did on more than one occasion). But they are sad, and so I am sad on their behalf.
R. is enjoying his cycling, and has decided to meet up with us when we land, which is nice. That also reduced the calm, because I had to locate a hotel room for him for our nights in Friesland, and I’m still puzzling over about what to do about the nights at Paris Disney. I bid for an upgrade at our StayCity, but am not 100% certain that is enough. I guess we’ll figure it out somehow.
But A. is up and fed and in a good mood. I walked with M. I had breakfast and lunch and am enjoying some iced tea. I’ve reduced the volume of donations in the garage to fit into a couple cardboard boxes out there, and moved the newly emptied plastic bins to the basement.
I stripped a couple beds, washed the sheets and remade them. I’m doing daily laundry. Someone picked up some tire chains, but declined R.’s old Victorinox luggage. I ran the dishwasher. I finally figured out what is going on with the hallway table light. That was the old name when it was on a Wemo switch; now it’s the Entry Table Light, but the hallway one is still in the app. It isn’t in the wemo app. Deleting it didn’t get rid of it. But it turns out disabling it and then deleting it does work. So, yay me! Also, w.t.a.f.
I decided I wanted to try cold brew or something along those lines. Reddit pointed me in the direction of an iced pour over. So I upped the amount of grounds (didn’t actually bother grinding finer), and decreased the water and brewed in a larger mug that had ice in it and wow, that is super tasty without anything added to it at all. Quite surprising! I’m nearly through the decaf coffee bag that has been in the freezer since 2015, and will then have to decide what I want to get next for coffee beans. I’m thinking more decaf, but I may do additional research on which ones. I liked these, but who knows what I haven’t learned about yet.
Woot! R.’s Victorinox left the house! Whee!
