Monday was mercifully quiet
Mar. 3rd, 2025 09:47 pmI walked with M.
We were up kind of late because A. went to bed late, and I have decided I’m really going to see if I can break this pattern. So I walked around the house with A., chatting with her, after dinner. She helped cook her dinner. It wasn’t fancy: a burger, some tots, I think R. got her some strawberries, and chocolate milk. I had her help cook the patty, which I’d made up earlier when I thawed the beef the other day. We had her help put the cheese on the bun and put it in the toaster oven with the tots for a minute to melt a bit. I had her get the tots out when they were done. Nothing big, just helping with the steps.
Once she was done walking, I got her in the shower, and out in under 20 minutes, which is some kind of record for her. Her showers tend to run long, but I really stayed on it this time. I also got the ketchup stain out of her t-shirt and started a load of laundry.
Post-shower, I sent her down to get a snack, because if you have her do her whole get ready for bed routine without a snack, she winds up adding a snack at the end and having to redo the brush teeth and go to the bathroom which is how we’ve wound up with her still up doing things at 1:30 a.m. I have also specifically asked her to put the phone down while doing any element of her routine. That is making a difference.
I appear to have misplaced my good tape measure and I am somewhat unhappy about that. It’ll turn up. Probably.
