Wednesday appointment with dermatologist
Feb. 12th, 2025 11:00 pmI drove over to Chelmsford for the dermatology appointment. They did not do the procedure on the spot. Selfpay was cheap — $124 and change. I did get on the schedule for early March which is very exciting. Doc was being shadowed and the young woman’s name is my sister’s. Delightful!
R. and I went out to dinner at Less Than Greater Than, and I got the steak frites (which is at this point normal for me there) and the Cask and Crew Old Fashioned, which packed a substantial punch for an Old Fashioned, and was very Yum. I only had the one drink, and had vegan chocolate ice cream and PB gravy at the Microcreamery after. I hadn’t eaten very much during the day (usual breakfast, loaf for lunch, and a small bowl of plain oatmeal for snack before picking up A.) so even tho we ate after 7 pm, I was not uncomfortably full when I went to bed, which is a big improvement for me. Also, it’s cheaper when we only have one drink each, not to mention probably a better life choice. Still fun, too!
A. and I have been doing TikTok again, which is fun. However, I’ve been trying to get to bed earlier, and not always succeeding, so at therapy, we talked about how I’ve been feeling very overwhelmed again. Things are going well, truly, so well that I’ve taken on the task of getting the bump on my face dealt with and also came up with a plan to bend the curve of my health in a somewhat better direction (not counting calories!). Unfortunately — and I have a very long history of doing this to myself — when I decide to increase my exercise (in this case, adding time on the treadmill and restarting lifting, in addition to my daily walk with M) and also reduce desserts and alcohol (all great choices! No regrets!) and also increase fruits and vegetables and blah blah blah, the net effect is a much bigger decrease in how much I’m eating than I actually intend, so I’m walking around at a significant deficit and more irritable as a result.
It’s all good, and it’s important that I continue to do this. Also, it’s extremely important that I get enough sleep. Talking about it helped, and let me refer to that discussion when talking to A. later in the evening, so I’m optimistic that this will continue to improve.
