Cosplay shopping

walkitoutI’ve been tinkering around with what I want to wear to the April con, and possibly to the summer con as well. I could do Ahsoka Tano again, but why not be creative and do something new. Cons are generally in venues with horrifying lighting and I really need a brim to protect me from the nonsense, so hat is first. That is one of the reasons to revisit the previous cosplay because the Bioworld hat for that one is amazing and I got tons of compliments.
But I want to do purple. There are great purple options out there — Bonnie, from Five Nights at Freddy’s, there’s a alternative universe Luigi from Mario, there was a good Luna from Sailor Moon and some absolutely jaw droppingly awesome Gengar hats on Etsy. Alas, I’m not really into any of these characters.
I did, however, find a super cool looking purple wool porkpie hat. So. Now I’m trying to invent some kind of vibe to go with that hat. I do have a great vest to go with. I ordered some Miz Mooz purple sandals. I recently acquired purple cargo pants for other purposes. So I’m pretty much left with coming up with some jewelry to go with this nutty All Purple extravaganza with mild post-steampunk explorer vibe. I found a good lab alexandrite pendant. When it all arrives, I will assemble and debate next steps.
