It was definitely a Monday

Over the weekend and into today, my MIL received a notification that a unit was available at one of the places she is waitlisted at. She turned it down, and then wondered if that was the right decision. She’s been waffling on it for over 24 hours now.
Also, rather than focusing on when we might meet up with her in the immediate future, she’s focused on planning something that will be happening next June. The good news there is that resulted in me thinking through the details of just how difficult it would be to help A. get through meltdowns and sensory overload on a Maine island, attending a wedding, where the nearest car she could retreat to is a ferry ride away, and she doesn’t have a hotel room to hide in. This sounds bad! We have a save the date, but no invitation yet, so I think we’ll just wait until we get the details on RSVP, and then we’ll sent R. and T. but A. and I will stay put and I will say words to communicate this is not because we are in a snit but because we love them. Hopefully, this will work.
Because M. and J. bought the car in Washington and are licensing it in WA and not OR despite living in OR (ah, the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area!), they discovered that decision is going to cost a bunch of money. Oh well. I was very confused, because no sales tax in OR. But yeah, definitely sales tax in WA. *sigh*
Meanwhile, a bunch of shenanigans around R.’s cousin H., who I support by listening to her efforts to get appropriate, supportive care and by paying for some of it. She’s trying to access some pharmaceuticals that might help with treatment-resistant depression (I think you know the one, it has a rep as a party drug but has been rehabilitated recently, especially for PTSD), and is hoping to do that on a pretty tight timeline and across state lines because of travel for the holidays and travel for her job and wow, that is just complicated. Good news tho — those somewhat sketchy seeming web operation that want your money up front for that stuff will give right back to you in a hurry if they decide they want nothing to do with you.
Also! I didn’t know there was a balance owing on my niece and nephew’s day care, so that was fun. Apparently I need to just go check that at the first of the month or something every month, because I am not getting any notifications that that is due.
Also, I’ve been wondering when a certain new copy of a card would arrive because expiration is coming up quick, and of course it did today, but I didn’t _know_ that was going to happen and that may or may not have resulted in a bunch of failures at buying Etsy gift cards as holiday presents for my nieces.
Oh, and R. installed a bunch of switches and decided to turn off a network that only had one powerstrip attached to it. But in order to get that working again, I’d have to factory reset it and set it up new. I’m like, you _really_ had to do that at 10 o’clock at night after _the day I’ve been having_? Which started with him not being able to get A. out the door on time, so I had to drive her into school. And I had to pick her up, because he was wiring switches.
Definitely a Monday.
So I ordered some mesh laundry bags so hopefully we can keep clear things that should not go into the dryer. And I ordered an Amazon branded power strip that is just like the Kasa I have but which hopefully will play better with Alexa. I’ve got a list of stuff to check on tomorrow. And there’s a meeting that I’m going to attend and hopefully finally shut down some foolishness around questions like “who is going to be doing the lighting controls”. You’re gonna put in switches that are Alexa / Amazon branded, is what you are gonna do. We do not want anything more complicated than that and we really don’t want other brand supposedly compatible stuff. *sigh*
