We did not go into the park at all today, because we just didn’t care and it was 50 degrees and raining. We had a leisurely breakfast at Bricks, picked up some candy in the Little Big Shop and then packed up and left around 11. We drove straight home. I noticed A. snacking increasingly aggressively around 1:30 but she just wanted to get home, so I had her pull the piece of toast from breakfast that I brought in a handkerchief and eat that. It helped, and we had a couple mandarins too, and I had the nature’s bakery fig bars. That got us home, and I made her a grilled cheese and gave her a glass of chocolate milk and I made a sourdough english muffin. Yum!
Laundry is running. The car is plugged in and charging.
We’re planning on next get together being in a hotel with an indoor pool so the kids can play, and either split between our locations or in S.’s town, and just hang out and relax instead of trying to do anything big. A. really likes just watching movies with her cousins and they seem to like it too, so, why not make it easy for everyone?
Also! I actually read the book group selection! And it was emotionally a roller coaster, and in parts extremely sad, but the ending was mostly satisfying and there was a lot to like about the book as a whole.
