It was a half day. I was in the middle of making my lunch when A., annoyed at my total failure to respond to two texts in a row, called me to ask if someone was coming to pick her up. Ooops. I didn’t feel like walking over, and then walking back to get the car if she objected to walking, so I drove over. Pity — it was really nice weather. Also, my lunch was waiting. Oh well!
A. wanted to got to Seasons 52, so once I got through the extremely interrupted Equalizer episode (and I finished lunch), and she got through her math, watched a Bad Batch episode and then drove to Burlington for an early dinner. We got the half chicken and I got avocado toast and a manhattan. It’s definitely a Darden restaurant, but it’s a really good one.
We had a little time after, so we went over to Lane Bryant and tried some stuff on and bought a couple things. We stopped back at the restaurant so A. could use the restroom and then we went home. I was there in plenty of time for the NYG&B sponsored book event for Brooke Kroeger’s _Undaunted_. There were some technical difficulties with the sound towards the end, but it was pretty good. I do now have a paper (hardback) copy of the book, which I’m not sure what to do with. I’ll either give it to a friend or donate it. If I want to read it all the way through, an ebook works so much better for me.
I moved pants over to the drawers in the closet and the shorts and capris into my main dresser. I also tried things on and donated some thing. It wasn’t a lot, but it was enough so that I could clear the packing cubes off the top of the storage bench in the closet into the drawers in the closet. Progress! Still more to be done, but I’m feeling really good about this process. I’d been doing go shopping, bring stuff home, get enough out of the drawers to make space fro the new, but keeping things fairly full. They are now not nearly so full, and I’m being a lot slower to acquire (a lot of that is the reduction in in person shopping and then supply chain limitations), which helps, and also I’ve gotten much more brutal about getting rid of things that are not quite right, because I understand in a lot more detail _what_ exactly is wrong with them. I also handed A. a shirt that is very pretty — stretchy lilac v-neck with some burnout floral detail — but which I put on, make a face, and then take off again. She likes it, and is going to see what she can do with it. I looked at the tag, and it’s an Evri 0x, which honestly, I should know better than to buy those. They often _seem_ to fit, but this is _exactly_ how it always goes once I have it at home.
