Christmas Eve, First day in the parks: MK, took the monorail in, no problem there. First stop, guest relations to activate the pass. This was time consuming, but not a problem (it was too late to do it the night before. Probably. T. said so and I trusted him, but he was wrong about no early entry and about when guest relations opened in the morning so who really knows) I had bought Genie, got a Peter Pan LL for free and paid to get a Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. We did Space Mountain first, then Buzz was busy, so we did Pirates of the Caribbean. When we walked past Big Thunder, it had _just_ opened, so we did that next. We stopped and got a pretzel and a churro with chocolate sauce, and skipped the cheese sauce on the pretzel. The churro at MK is dairy free. This is NOT consistent across parks and restaurants, however!
We did Haunted Mansion. We did Under the Sea (Ariel). We had lunch at Columbia Harbor House and I had the Doom Burger (plant based “crab” cake sandwich). As everyone says, it is dry, but a little mayo and mustard helped a lot. There’s a little too much bun for the sandwich, but I enjoyed it and it settled well.
We did Buzz Lightyear.
We failed to do Peoplemover, because when we tried, it wasn’t working, and it was fucking cold so we didn’t even attempt Astro Orbiter. We didn’t do any shows altho we thought about it. We did do a bunch of shopping and got A. a dress (50th), me a hoodie (ditto) and both of us bags (over the shoulder D&B silvery clubhouse gang; she got a pink backpack style with fluffy hears and a bow). We got her ears with donuts on them.
Great, great, great day. Got back in time to rest briefly before heading over to the Poly for dinner at Kona Cafe. The regular walking path is blocked and we were unclear on where the replacement was so we drove.
