We got out shortly after 8 am. We took the kids out of school in hopes of avoiding heavy traffic and we were largely successful. I was aiming for lunch in Danbury at Prime Pub, however, we were in Danbury around 11, and the restaurant didn’t open until 11:30, so we pressed on.

We stopped at Rivermarket Bar and Kitchen in Tarrytown, just before the Tappan Zee bridge. It was _really good_. I was bummed not to get to do my regular phone call with J. and I rudely forgot to tell him I wouldn’t be able to do it, so I got the call as we were parking. It was nice to chat super briefly!

I had the squash soup (vegan), the tuna tartare (obviously NOT vegan), and the vegan pumpkin cake. R. helped me with the pumpkin cake. I also had some of the chicken patty from A.’s chicken burger. It had quite a lot of spicing in the ground chicken, and her tolerance is limited. Really good food. Great bar, too. Don’t know why it’s rating on google is as low as it it, but our experience was fantastic in every way.

We had no traffic to speak of the entire trip.

We played pickle ball (sp?) (well, A. and I did, with her cousin A., and her aunt and uncle). That was fun! We had sushi for dessert from Kim’s. We figured out something for the kids (I think we ordered them fried chicken?) that was successful, but I was drinking a lot so the details are slightly fuzzy.

After dinner, we checked into the hotel, which is a Courtyard, since this was all planned fairly late in the year. Comfortable beds.
