Sunday: routine! Also, paddle boarding

I walked with M. A. has come with us for a couple days now. She tried to wake me up at 7 because she’s trying to wake up earlier but I was like, absolutely not. She tried to get her own breakfast, but was stymied by not knowing how to operate the microwave (we have shown her; she has forgotten), the new countertop oven (oops, we have not shown her), and also had difficulty opening the lid on the multivitamins. When I came down around 9, she was sound asleep on the couch, because she was tired, and had given up. Good plan!
I woke her up, got her breakfast, and we watched some TikTok.
She had a portal playdate in the afternoon.
T. went paddle boarding with friends in Littleton.
We had family zoom.
I decluttered the craft shelves. I was mostly taking down unopened or still mostly complete kits for donation. I was also reclaiming some rubbermaid and other containers that were being used to hold things. In some cases, stuff was dried out and that went into the trash. I came up with enough small / short containers to use to move my makeup out of a largish, clear container in my closet (fine for using once a week or so; a pain if I wanted to use it more often) and into a drawer in the master bathroom without creating a drawer in which stuff was just floating around and hard to find.
The sourdough crock had gotten really full, so I pulled some out and added water, white flour and oil. I let it rise for a while and went looking for something to do with it. I found some walnuts in the freezer that had been there for a while, but had not gone bad. I chopped them up. I put the dough into an oiled square pyrex dish, and then put the chopped nuts on top (leaving an edge), added some cardamom, cinnamon and a little cumin, and a couple very tiny bottles of maple syrup from my niece’s wedding years ago. I cooked it in the countertop oven. With a little spread on top, it hits all the notes of a cinnamon roll, just a different form factor.
We did sheets, and I did not put the top sheet back on my daughter’s bed or the bed spread. She really struggles with the covers, and she now has a cooling blanket, so we’re going to try bottom sheet and blanket for a bit and see how that goes. I’ll probably get her an appropriately sized to be manageable duvet for the winter.
