Friday was bizarrely frenetic
Mar. 14th, 2025 07:24 pmThe day started okay, because we got to bed at a reasonable hour so I could get up at around 8. Which is helpful.
A. got out the door with the normal delays, so this isn’t a miracle or anything, but I was able to get out the door on time to get to the dentist. I also picked up the Amazon order from the doorstep. A. told me late last night her lipbalm was running out and her lip was bleeding, so I handed her my last new one and ordered another for overnight. It’s free overnight (prime) if you order enough eligible items; the tricky thing is identifying eligible items that I also need. In this case, period supplies for A. Woot!
The dentist was uneventful. R. texted me, but I didn’t read it and he called me before I could have it read to me. A.’s classes were all canceled today, but she stayed long enough to finish her test, have lunch, and get at least some of her homework done. I had a phone call with K. I walked with M. I had lunch (mushroom omelette and hash browns, and I didn’t clean up until later because I had to get that cooked and in my in about 35 minutes). I drove to pick up A. I had a phone call with J. while waiting for A. to finally come down. We stopped at home to pick up shampoo, conditioner and styling product and to snack and use the bathroom. Then we went to Moodz so A. could get a much needed haircut. My stylist did a fantastic job and A. is happy too. Woot!
The four of us had dinner more or less together. R. taught T. how to grill a burger, then he taught A. the same and also asparagus. He also grilled the drumsticks I had thawed. I made some homemade air fryer fries and a chopped salad. The kids had some carrots. It was a really nice dinner.
I drove over to HG and dropped off the rest of the books. I’ll need to do more of that, but I think they are clearing that book bin out a lot more frequently, which is helpful.
I paid the hospital bill for the first ER visit. There will be more bills coming — the second ER visit, the second dermatologist visit, possibly the visit to my new primary care provider / nurse practitioner. I also paid a childcare bill for my niece and nephew, and venmo’d money to my lesbian friends in Portland to help out with their auto insurance.
I downloaded an audiobook to my phone so I’ll have something to listen to tomorrow.
It’s been busy around here. I forgot to send the invite to FF until about an hour ago. Priestess had a 1/4 gummy because everyone canceled everything on her and she’s on the express train to zzzzzzs, so I won’t be seeing her tonight. I could use a nap myself, honestly. I’m going to call a hard stop to FF at 10 pm if not sooner. Not a bad day, tho. I’m gonna go pull the granola out of the oven and I’ll fold the laundry when it’s done and put away the dishes when they are done and then probably collapse.
