We drove to Rte 128 Amtrak station. We took the Acela to Moynihan Hall Penn Station. A. and R. had food at the table; I went and got hummus and veg in the cafe car because I didn’t think to ask for a vegan meal until within the 24 hour window.
I had realized at the initial station that I’d forgotten to pack one medication for A., however, it is OTC, so I found the Duane Reade at Moynihan Hall on the website and ordered it for pickup. That even worked! A. was able to tolerate the escalator, altho a bit panicky at the top. She really wanted snacks and it took a bit to find the Duane Reade, but she found snacks and was pretty happy then. I got the pill and we got oriented and headed towards the subway but found the taxi stand first so we rode that to Arthouse. Yay!
The rooms all looked good, and I had a reservation for Serafina at 5 pm. Priestess arrived. She had gone from TWA hotel to Grand Central Station, and then took a Lyft to the hotel. We got her squared away and then all had an amazing dinner and drinks at Serafina. I had a couple side cars. We tried and liked the Nonino grappa (I think it’s the base for Amaro Nonino, which I knew I liked). We also tried the Ramazotti Amaro, very yummy. Priestess got an Aperol Spritz, always a solid choice. We split brussel sprouts, a very yummy porto cervo salad, the tuna tartare and the bruschetta. Everything was super tasty. A. got the chicken breast and fries on the kids menu. R. got the bresaola and arugula app, and I forget what he had for his main.
We dropped A. in the room, and then Priestess, R. and I walked over to Central Park and looked at the outside of Belvedere Castle. Very, very fun walk.
