Saturday: woken up by a police phone call
Sep. 7th, 2024 09:47 amNon-emergency number, Fitchburg so I picked it up not knowing what I was getting but figured I’d better. They were looking for my son and not by the shortened form of his name, so that really woke me up. The woman was very kind, and the intent of the call was kind. Someone had gone along freshman student parking, pulled up a bunch of flowers and thrown them on cars and the police wanted to tell all the car owners to go look at their cars and let the police know if there was any damage. Which was unbelievably caring and supportive. I gave her my son’s cell and said call him, he’s gonna have a ton of questions that you are better prepared to answer than I am and she was even willing to do that (vs. me relaying the information). Which was a relief, because I never can predict just what he’s going to ask and there is often a lot.
