Wednesday: ice cream and pool room
Jul. 31st, 2024 11:00 pmI took A. out for ice cream at West Side Creamery. It was delightful. They have a vegan oreo flavor that is fantastic!
Also, the architect produced a pool finishes page, which is great because we need it for the Soft-Crete installation plan for the builders. Unfortunately, he is still on about his 3’ of tile on the walls and an oak chair rail, which I’ve already said I didn’t want, yet here it was in written form. I didn’t take it well, and counter-proposed cork tile for the wainscoting if he really wanted it. Post-ice cream, I sat down and worked out what I wanted for the pool room. There had been talk of 3’ of something waterproof, and an alternative product I suggested might work was very unpopular. So tile it is for there. But rather than have a wainscoting effect throughout the room and a chair rail at 3’, I’m proposing an 8” tall, 48” long “wood look” tile for a baseboard effect throughout the rom. It’ll be topped by 3 layers of a really pretty blue tile where the wall is near the pool, and painted a compatible shade of blue in the rest of the room. I then figured out in detail a way to implement my beach towel display idea, and depicted it on a slide. I really didn’t want that chair rail running right through the middle of it.
