Wednesday: walk, hot, phone calls
Jul. 17th, 2024 03:01 pmI walked with M. at 8 am, because it is hot today — over 90. But at 8, it was under 80. So, win win.
I had a delightful phone call with J.
I called Don’s Moving, and talked to someone about moving the stuff stored there to our basement. The helpful man answering the phone says maybe early August and he’ll get an email back to me probably tomorrow. Woot!
I called Big Ass Fans. I eventually got to talk to someone. I had purchased a wall switch from Pottery Barn for my circa 2018 Haiku L 52” fan. The fan has a remote and it talks to alexa, so I kind of assumed it had bluetooth and would work with the wall switch I ordered, but it didn’t and I had no way of telling if that was because of incompatibility or if that was down to a malfunctioning switch, fan, or misinstallation or what. I had to get a picture of the serial number off the top of the fan (adventure! Thank you cell phone camera and footboard on bed that is sturdy enough to stand on). Alas, that fan does not have bluetooth capability. BAF used to (maybe?) sell a part that would add bluetooth capability, but a callback said they do not (anymore). Oh well! The experiment was a failure, but I still think it was worthy.
I finally drafted a detailed email response to one of the remodeling companies that responded to my Houzz solicitation. I initially drafted it in a Note, but it wouldn’t copy with the photos, so I reconstructed it in a google doc and sent the link in an email. I hate sending a ton of photos in an email. It just causes trouble for everyone.
So, a very, very productive day, even tho one of the items was a failure, and two of the items I am waiting for next steps on.
I also sent J. at the builder a link to my Room Finishes Sheet (and included D. and the architect as well).
We’ve got a zoom meeting on Friday about shower pans. The person J. has looped in has already supplied links to curbless or super low curb pans that are ready to tile and also ones that do not have to have any tile at all. Which is super exciting! No pink, tho, but I’ve already figured out just how freaking impossible that is.
