R., T. and MIL left for Maine.

I took A. to school early, so that I could do a 10 am lighting related meeting. I just wound up doing all the meetings in the lobby of the Fusion / Workbar building. Mostly, there was no one there, but there was one woman, the mother of one of A.’s schoolmates, and she was there during the 20 minutes or so between the lighting meeting and the power backup meeting. We chatted. She’s lovely. We exchanged contact information. Delightful!

During the power backup meeting (mostly, yes, I read the impact to the cost and I’m fine with it), I learned that well #3 has come in at 8 gpm, so we are absolutely over the moon with happiness. Obviously, more would be better, but 8 is much, much, much better than 3. We can reduce the water storage needs, which is amazing. So so so happy.

A. walked out of her Spanish class, which I learned when I went upstairs to see if she was staying for lunch or not. She decided to stay for lunch, so I had a phone call with K. Delightful! She had stories from her recent travels and it was so good to hear her voice again. I missed our chats.

I fit in an abbreviated walk and chat with M. I walked with A. I took A. to West Side Creamery to hang out with her friend K. and I had a very late lunch / early dinner at True West. The cauliflower schwarma is really good.

FF was fun, as always.

The lighting meeting generally went well. I learned that the trimbers are not only serving an aesthetic purpose, but also serving an acoustic purpose. I have mixed feelings about this, but I’m leaving the wood in more places as a result. We won’t see a mockup for a month or more, so decisions have to be made now. I am still yanking the LED strips out of places that have fans, and that are on the LS side, or my bedroom. Still concerned about the Great Room.

The exterior lighting for the front door had 5 cans. E. reduced it to 3. N. wanted it back at 5. I noticed that the double door at Fusion has an overhang that is easily twice the size of the one on the new house, and it has 2 cans. (Obligatory Toucan joke.)

The architect is concerned about whether the lighting will be enough to see possible ice on the steps. Ah, but there are better solutions for that!

The architect wanted to put that fucking strip lighting under the bar. I’m like, we spent a good chunk of a zoom cocktail hour making fun of a picture of that type of lighting in a restaurant. Just. No.
