I walked with M.

I picked up Priestess and we went into Boston. We walked over to the common, and looked at the memorial for the victims of the Boston Massacre, and before that, we looked at The Embrace. That is such a delight. It depicts a hug, and it _feels_ like a hug. The texture of the skin is really lovely, and the details of the wedding rings, the buttons on the suit jacket, the pearl bracelet, are so beautifully ordinary and everyday and relatable. I had expected it to be good, but it has _such_ a wonderful feeling to it. Does not photograph well, but that’s no surprise.

We had lunch at a Shah’s Halal, which was fine. I got the falafel over rice platter and Priestess had a chicken gyro. Pretty simple setup, but the food’s good and there’s a lot of it. I had the cilantro chili sauce and some hot sauce. Don’t overdo the hot sauce.

We visited the Museum of African American History, which includes the African Meeting House and the Abiel Smith school. It’s pretty spare, but nicely done, and the presentation is enthusiastic and detailed. The restoration of the sanctuary is really nice. Great acoustics. If you are in Boston and trying to figure out a wedding venue, maybe consider this one.
