Piano was canceled, however, T. went to martial arts and Vic’s. I slept in. I miss chatting with D. and G. and seeing the lovely folks at Vic’s, however, I don’t need to intrude on my son’s independence in order to entertain myself. At least, that’s what I keep telling myself. Also, sleeping in is glorious.
I see that we have a Speaker of the House now. On to the rules circus! It’ll be nice if the staff can get paid so they can pay their bills and have health insurance and so forth.
NVUB basketball begins! I’m so excited! T. actually got to do basketball in 2020 — it was one of the last things to complete before lockdowns. It has been a while. I mean, he did get to do Unified this past fall, but it’s nice to get back to doing some of the old things, too.
Every time I go on vacation, I come back with lots of ideas about how to do things Better in a variety of ways. Some of the Things are specific to vacation (which bag will I bring next time and what will go in it is a long time source of puzzlement); other Things are more general. For example, last year I realized that we never had tweezers with us on vacation AND we only had one or maybe two in the whole house. Why? We have 11 of everything else imaginable! So I read reviews, bought the two Highly Recommended Tweezers, and gave R. the choice and I took the other and I am now very happy with Tweezer availability and performance. Life upgrades occur in silly ways, but I’ll take that.
This trip, it was nail clippers. I _had_ a nail clipper in my purse. A. finds it endlessly amazing the things I have in my purse, and I keep telling her: you know how you ask me for random things and I generally speaking have either that or something that can be used for that? Well, this is how that magic works. Anyway. My then current nail clipper had been purchased at a drug store counter on impulse and it was shitty. It was dull. And it kept falling apart. I had not lost any of the parts, but I often found myself in public reassembling a nail clipper so I could use it. Felt pretty non-functional, honestly, so I read reviews, bought three Highly Recommended Nail Clippers (because I saw that the Seki came in a Toenail Clipper model). The Sekis arrived and I am _overjoyed_ about the performance of my new nail clippers. I’ll try to remember to review when the other brand arrives. Also, I have zero fears about this thing repetitively, spontaneously disassembling itself. I do have some concerns about it potentially setting off security at theme parks, but you know, that already happens sometimes so whatever.
