Tuesday: aftermath of booster
Jan. 18th, 2022 11:26 pmA. got her booster shot yesterday. And wow, it hit her hard. She woke up and said her breakfast tasted weird, and the toothpaste tasted weird. She went to school (I warned the liaison), even tho I told her she could stay home and if she went she could go to the nurse and they would call me. About an hour after school started, the nurse called. She’d showed up, laid down and said she felt better ; looking at a screen was making her feel bad, but she wasn’t committed to coming home. I told the nurse I’d just take that decision right out of their hands. She went to bed and stayed put _all_ _day_ _long_ which she basically never does. She asked for crackers eventually, but that was basically all she wanted other than having the covers adjusted once. I didn’t bother to wake her up to have her put her PJs back on.
I had a great zoom convo with E.
I did not have a phone call with K.; she was on boarding new people.
I learned about the 5G / radio altimeter thing today. *sigh* Hopefully they’ll get that figured out. Soon.
Side by side testing on people with omicron of PCR and binax is looking really good for binax when viral load (and therefore potential to transmit) is high. So I do need to quit dissing the rapid tests; as long as you test close to when you are going to do something that might transmit, that’s pretty useful.
