I went for a walk with M.
I did Duo.
I played with LingYourLanguage, which is super cool. I’m pretty bad at it, but learning about lots of things, which is super fun. If you have friends whose first language is not English, it turns out you already have a lot of familiarity with what other languages sound like! More than I thought I did, for sure.
I also started reading _The Avion My Uncle Flew_, which has some of that sort of theme to it as well, but is mostly a bit of a horror show about the intersection of worrying about money and surviving WW2 and injuries. It’s not _intended_ that way, but that’s sure how it is reading for me right now. It makes a nice break from Kamble, tho, and definitely prevents me from going back to _Book Wars_ *shudder*.
I’ve cleaned three toilets, vacuumed the mats from two bathrooms and cleaned three toilets and a couple sinks and counters.
Having listened several times to Imagine Dragons’ _Mercury Act 1_, and a couple times to Coldplay’s _Music of the Spheres_ and Zac Brown’s _ Comeback_ once, I can say definitively that I want to listen to Imagine Dragons a whole lot more and Zac Brown maybe not even a second time and I’m on the fence about Coldplay. Also, wow, that is a whole lot of midlife male angst. (Not sure if Dan Reynolds qualifies for midlife yet or not, but the other two for sure.)
There’s a moderately entertaining reddit thread on the topic of whether Imagine Dragons (and a whole bunch of other bands) can be considered emo:
