Wednesday: Happy Equinox!

I walked with M.
I got a long walk by myself. I walked A. to school. There was an emergency early dismissal at 11:30, because a tree viciously attacked the power at the main campus. I dunno; maybe something needs to be done about those trees. Or not — the kids were reallllly happy to be turned loose early.
Nevertheless, I had a delightful, two hour convo with J.
T. had his swimming lesson, then R. and I took him down to Via Lago for a belated birthday dinner.
Yesterday, I heard from S. that she is really struggling, but we’re starting to get it squared away. Probably in a couple of days, the rest of it will be taken care of, and she will not be struggling under such a heavy load. In general — if you are really having a hard time, I encourage people to reach out to the people they trust to love them, and do some problem solving and maybe even accept help. Those of us who have the resources to do so genuinely enjoy the opportunity to help the people we love. It could be as simple as just telling a hard story or sharing powerful negative emotions, or it could be a need for money or technical assistance, or help with the basics of life, like taking care of kids or getting meals prepared. You won’t always get what you need right away — sometimes you will! — but asking for help from people you know and trust can be a really good experience for everyone.
I finally broke down and called a couple numbers at Legoland NY to ask about the date on the tickets I bought with a hotel stay. The first reservation date is the arrival date, and we won’t be going to the park that date, but it turns out that does not matter. I probably should have realized this myself, but I’m more used to the park reservation system at WDW, and just didn’t really get it.
