Monday: the “observed” holiday

When the 4th of July or other Federal Holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, we get Monday or Friday “observed” day. That’s fine, but try explaining that to my offspring. It took many tries; they remain skeptical. I mean, they get that it was a day off from regular life, but they’re really unclear on _why_. And honestly, they are not wrong.

It was a nice, quiet day. It wasn’t hot. I got my walks. I continue to reread the Kate Daniels’ series.
