The News Today Was Exceptionally Surreal
Jun. 7th, 2021 05:45 pmI mean, there was a whole Thing involving the previous president’s pants being wrinkled. Gross. Not the wrinkles — that this became an entire news cycle. I don’t think there is any particular problem spending time wondering about … whatever, but I really would prefer to Ignore.
And actually, that was not the weirdest thing.

This is probably the weirdest thing: Plaid+ was canceled, and someone wrote a CNN.com article about how maybe Wall Street was going to be Disappointed that Musk canceled Plaid+.
Honestly.
OK: to help people still struggling to catch up. Plaid and Plaid+ are new line extensions of the sedan from Tesla. Plaid is a Spaceballs references. Yes, that Spaceballs. As if there could possibly _be_ a _different_ Spaceballs.
In a Universe (ours, for better or for worse) in which Musk Adjacency defines value, there is a CNN reporter willing to suggest or even assert that canceling Plaid+ might somehow be disapproved by Wall Street (whatever that might mean). Come on. The tweet clearly told us what we should believe: it was canceled only because Plaid was so amazing.
R. went to the grocery store.

A. had very negative effects from the second shot. I mean, not as bad as mine, but she actually laid down and took time off from school, so, for her, quite bad! Tylenol and water helped, but she is definitely “off her feed” in the parlance of yore.
I reread _Amaryllis_ by Jayne Castle. Just the whole idea of “Lower Bellevue” is never gonna get old for me.

Also! I got the fifth crown in Duo Latin, so I got the badge for that. Yay! The remaining un-achieved achievement is almost all of the levels in the timed thing. I hate the timed thing.
