A. had Big Plans: we did Spiderman (2x? 3x? I don’t recall), Kong — that was a long line as they added capacity and it Did Not Go Well. The Kong express line is always long, but this was bad.
We had lunch at Burger Digs, and mobile ordered but it did not like saying prepare my order at the table. We had to ask for help and they were super nice, but it took a while. The salad option was a corn and bean salad which I do not love, so we both got burgers and fries, which is fine. At least these days, it isn’t a burger every single day for a week. Or, worse, two.
We did the family coaster, which with the two of us is now super crowded feeling, but the line, as always is awesome (for the express). A. said, we are never doing this again, unless we ride one person per row. I am not disagreeing on that.
We took the train to the other park. I gotta say, I LOVE that they put a single party per compartment. So pleasant! In line for the train, I got a text from the MD BIL regarding Florida Man, who has apparently caught that thing which is going around. Florida Man was looking for someone to pay for a hotel for him to stay in for his quarantine/isolation period/wtf. Social worker did not believe his statement that he was homeless. Family consultation was rapid and entirely aligned on This Is Not an Us Problem, This Is a Him / Florida / His Friends problem. He’s not seriously ill.
We did Race Through New York, which is always a pleasure. And then we were done for the day. We had talked about doing MIB and/or Simpsons, but Simpsons is too long and I’m always miserable at the end of it. And it is way more walking and A. was really struggling with all the walking.
We had some really good conversations about physical fitness and stamina, and we have a plan to get her Pokemon Go and do more walking around town. We’ve cut way back on the commercial snacks over the last few months and she really enjoyed having them on the trip again. We agreed to get some more of those, and make them contingent on actually getting more exercise. It’s not the best plan, but it’s something, and I sure don’t mind saying no to the crappy food, so it should be possible for me to stick to.
R. got the big sushi platter at Orchid Lounge; I got an order from Jake’s Takeout. I tried to get the vegan lasagna on the menu, however, they have replaced it with a vegan bolognese. Apparently, the lasagna was not tasty. The bolognese was fine; I never order it because I like my version better than anyone else’s, but theirs is fine and I wasn’t cooking.
