The CEO who led the turnaround described in the first few articles stepped down, and was replaced by someone who came up through the management of the supply chain.

But he was only there for a few months, and then he was replaced by someone who has the same last name as the family that owns Lego A/S (private company, so finding financials is ... different).
Pre-pandemic, they had an initiative under way to replace oil based / ABS plastic with sustainably sourced stuff, with a 2025 deadline. They have good insight into customer demographics and opinions, and know this is very important in terms of keeping their customers. They think they are at least on schedule, despite the pandemic, and perhaps ahead of schedule.

I made add more. The Time article has a comment about a 2 month shutdown in Mexico that is likely responsible for some if not all of the difficulty in keeping up with North American demand.
