T. went to school today. So odd! There was an empty spot on the wall of backpack for the first time in a year. It went really well. The plan was to try it out today, and then maybe go to two days a week — the two days that he does not have any inclusion zoom. However, the teacher came up with a proposal that I had suspected would be offered (a place at the school for him to zoom inclusion from), so he’ll try that out tomorrow. If all goes well, he’ll be 4x a week this week and ongoing, until the high school comes back 5x, at which point he’d be 5x. That is probably the _fastest_ transition (other than lockdown) either of the kids has ever been through. It’s not ideal — it’s super cold out today, so everyone was eating indoors — but he has been doing so much out and about with the sitter that is was increasingly ridiculous to NOT go back. Waiting for the sitter to actually get the vaccine herself was even more ridiculous — she may never get it. At this point, if anything happens to her, it’s not my fault, and I will lose no sleep over it.
I made blondies, blueberry crisp, and pad thai today. I haven’t eaten any of the crisp yet (probably after dinner — I was just cooking it at the same time as the blondies, which I did have some of).
I had a visit with M., but we didn’t walk because it was windy and in the teens. It has warmed up, so I may go out in a bit.
I took down winter decorations, and put up St Patricks / Spring Equinox / Easter decorations.
I listened to Bloomberg all day, since the stimulus passed and a lot of the direct payments have been distributed over the weekend. Lots of immediately looking forward to infrastructure. It’s pretty hilarious. The Bush era stimulus checks legendarily went to bicycles and guns; apparently, 10% of this stimulus is expected to go to Bitcoin. I guess it is all part of virtualizing our whole world.
