Saturday: walks, irises
May. 2nd, 2020 09:54 pmR. cooked chicken wings. He also made coffee cake. Mmmmm.
The house with the really pretty bed of purple irises (I thought they were siberian; they are actually, as R. noted, bearded irises) thinned the bed and put the extras out at the curb in a box. I grabbed on a walk by myself in the evening.
Earlier, M. and I walked in the afternoon. We were earlier than the parade got to our block; the ABRHS teachers did a parade for the graduating class. That was nice. Julie of Julie’s Place and I think D.? Came by and sat in chairs in our side yard to watch it go by, so I went out to chat with them for a bit with M. as we walked by. We also chatted with M.’s dad, and mentioned Julie was down the road so he went over to chat. Nice day! Lots of socially distanced chatting with neighbors out in the sunshine.
A. has been doing Just Dance almost every day, and she is doing it vigorously enough to get red faced and sweaty. This is the only thing I have ever seen her actually happy to get tired doing. It is nice to see.
ETA: A. said the couch she usually hangs out on was really dirty and asked if someone could clean it. I got the vacuum out, had her plug it in, put the correct attachment on it, turned it on and handed it to her. She vacuumed the couch (including removing the removable parts and vacuuming them carefully and behind and under them), saying, “This is sooooo satisfying.” Ahhhhh. She knocked over an empt water bottle, which R. retrieved. He was going to get more involved and I pulled him aside and pointed out that she was being thorough and mostly careful, and that if we stayed out of it we might never have to vacuum that couch again. He seemed to take this to heart.
