Friday: full day in the UO parks
Nov. 8th, 2019 11:00 pmMIL, A., Priestess and I all took the boat over to Universal Studios for early entrance. We headed more or less straight for Diagon Alley and turned Priestess loose with a wand, the paper that goes with the want, and permission to buy trinkets and charge them to the room key. She spent the whole day (did not go back to rest at all) in Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. She had lunch at the Leaky Cauldron (she says the stew is good, and the staff helpful with allergy and says the bread bowl has dairy in it but they will serve it in a regular bowl). She bought a Hufflepuff Cape. She was happy.
MIL, A. and I did Gringott’s, then went to do MIB. My room key was not letting me charge, and I was worried that might be causing problems for the rest of the group, especially T. So I then went to the guest relations thing between MIB and Fear Factor and they called RPR and fixed it for my room and for T. No one else indicated after I texted them that they were having problems so fingers crossed there were no problems. *shrug* Priestess’ card was working, so, yay.
We had an early lunch at Mel’s (they will do totally unseasoned chicken breast and fries it just takes them a while), caught the Despicable Me parade and were first in line for pictures with Gru, then went to see the Horror Makeup Show, which we had never done before. It was hilarious. I would totally do that again. We went on Transformers, then A. rode it a couple more times.
We went back to the hotel to rest. Then we went to Islands of Adventure to go to Mythos for dinner, because T. asked and everyone else was game. After Mythos, A. and I did the monorail, the carousel and the Cat in the Hat. Then we rode the train to Universal Studios. We picked up a pink ball cap with the Universal Studios logo on it for MIL. She liked it.
Then it was off to do rounds and say good bye because Priestess has a crazy early flight. The cloak is delightful! I got my packable bags (backpack from my sister and duffel from my son, who used it to carry towel and so forth over to Volcano Bay today) back and mostly packed up.
It has been a truly wonderful trip.
