The SunBasket was due Monday but ultimately delivered on Tuesday. I had the chicken afritada first, with the onion; it was pretty good but A. hated the smell. We had the stuffed rainbow trout Wednesday night. We are having the chicken meatballs and minestrone for lunch. I think I will be canceling Sun Basket after this. The last two orders had oddness associated with the delivery, and it is a ton of work to even get two recipes that require no modification to work for us. They are too low on carbs and too high on protein (I know, right? For a plant centered diet, no less). All the other meal kits I have looked at are even worse: more dairy, more allium, more sodium, larger portion size, etc. I canceled Plated a while back. The amount of effort just to go through to see if I can get two meals out of a box without modification is more than I feel like putting into this any more.

Boston Globe had an article about why people are ex-meal kit. I may blog something about that — it’s the usual suspects, tho, so I may not bother: too much packaging, too optimistic about how much time would be saved, Yet Another Demand On One’s Time and Activities.
