A. had noticed a sign last night saying “Polish change at the spa” and wanted to do that. So we did that today. They fit us in as a walking in just before noon — we walked over and entered just as the rain started. Ooops! Forgot rain jackets and an umbrella. Oh well!

We dodged raindrops returning to the main building, and hemmed and hawed for a minute before deciding to have lunch rather than walk back. I called R., and he drove the rest of the group over and we all had lunch together. I got the blackened salmon wrap. It was also very tasty.

We drove back, thus avoiding a soaking, altho T. brought his rain jacket and walked both ways. Good exercise!

I had charged my new Panasonic LUMIX 60X camera, and we took pictures of a turkey vulture through the windows as an exercise in Getting to Know the New Camera. Later, I spotted a wedding (after the rain cleared) down the hill on the lawn, and started taking pictures of them. I belatedly realized that telephoto lenses, like genealogy, are probably fundamentally Rude and Violations of Privacy. But it was fun taking pictures of the people taking pictures of the other wedding.

I brought the camera to the rehearsal dinner (we are not in the wedding party, but they fed us food truck BBQ and Ben & Jerry’s, partly in the Blueberry Hill Inn ski touring building and partly in the tent set up for tomorrow’s wedding reception), which was moved due to the rain. That was fun. My BIL got a small oak barrel from Amazon and make barrel whatevered manhattans, so I got a bottle of that, and a couple small bottles of cocktail cherries he made from sour NJ (local for him) cherries. We tried both — very nice!

Very pleasant group of people. The bride is R.’s oldest niece and she’s always been a very sweet girl, altho she hasn’t been a girl for a while now. The groom has always been an extremely kind young man (I didn’t know him when he was a boy, obviously), quiet, good cook, nice to the kids, plays guitar and very patient. I am very happy for them, and they have nice friends, too.
