Memorial Day at StoryLand
May. 28th, 2018 07:28 pmOur thoughts of course are with everyone mourning someone who died serving our country, and we hold a special place in our own hearts for the dead as well.
We packed up and checked out after having breakfast. I realized as I was packing up that I had left my credit card at dinner the night before. Fortunately, they were open both for lunch and on Mondays, and even on Memorial Day. I was able to pick it up after our abbreviated park day.
A. had wanted to get face painting yesterday, but the line, while seemingly short was long in time. So we bailed out on the promise of returning, which we did first thing. No wait at all to get pink flowers. Lovely! Then we did the balloon ride, loopy labs, slipshod safari, dutch shoes, the turtles, and roarasaurus. We got pictures of her with the dinosaurs. She got an ice cream sundae. We had lunch at the Oasis. Then we did the glockenspiel ride. T. and R. found us; they were done and wanted to go home.
We had some traffic at the tolls and a couple other slowdowns, but otherwise, a pretty good return trip. I did laundry, fed the kids. R. went to NYAJ for a little alone / unwind time. I've uploaded ride photos. I've gotten things squared away for A.'s return to school tomorrow (permission slip with payment, costume for Wax Museum Eleanor Roosevelt). I was going to go grocery shopping, but decided I could put that off until tomorrow morning.
