Saturday at AK
Apr. 14th, 2018 11:00 pmI thought it would be smart to drive to the park, because we had a really tight timeline with our Flight of Passage FastPass and dinner at Boma back at AKL, then back to Animal Kingdom for Rivers of Light. My bad — it turns out that parking is super slow on a Saturday, especially when you get going a little late as a result of arriving late the night before. I won’t do that again.
Flight of Passage continues to be an absolute joy.
A. insisted on buying a banshee, which did not fit with our timeline, so we went back a little early for Rivers of Light to detour into Pandora to buy her one. Oh well! Rivers of Light was pretty, altho we were all a little cranky from being tired. This was one of the few days I did not have a lunch reservation. A. and I had a very late lunch at Restaurantosaurus. I ordered her a side of bacon, because you can’t get the kids burger with bacon on it. I did the allergy dance, so it was slow, but it didn’t matter.
Boma was awesome, altho not great for R. — there really weren’t any no allium options other than the carrot and ginger soup (which I couldn’t have). Lots of choices for me; funny to see the cards in English and Afrikaans (which I can easily read). I had a Walk the Plank. It was fine, but I liked the rye manhattan they used to have everywhere; they’ve updated the drink menu. But it’s okay — I’ll try some other things on it and see what I like best.
I brought the light that works with the Rivers of Light show, that A. bought on a previous trip. It isn’t a super interesting integration, but it wasn’t bad.
