The first Sunbasket delivery arrived last night while I was at the concert so R. opened up the box and put the bags in the fridge. I cooked the Ezogalin soup (a chickpea and rice stew with tomatoes, onion, flavored with lemon zest, mint and chili) and took it to my Dutch lesson. The supposedly 2 serving dish was lunch for three of us (me, my instructor and his husband); granted, A. had a sald with it but there were still leftovers. I know some people complain that portions are too small in meal kits, but based on this, I’m not sure I would agree.
R. and I had dinner at the Woods Hill Table bar, where we struck up a conversation with a nice gentleman named N. Interesting rambling conversation on many topics — he had interesting stories to tell about cycling in Japan and eating at 7-11s there. We knew that 7-11s in Japan were very different, but hearing about it from the perspective of an American who experienced them was really cool.
Drinks: Cable Car (bourbon, Madeira, mole bitters) and a Boulevardier (he used Breckinridge, IIRC) since they had a Negroni on the menu. _Everyone_ seems to have a Negroni on the menu currently around here. Which is great, because I _love_ Boulevardiers.
The sitter took the kids to see Sherlock Gnomes. They seemed to like it.
I had a lovely phone call with K. when I finally remembered to call her. She forgot too!
