T. and I got breakfast, but there was an issue with the waffle irons. It got squared away but took a while. I brought R. coffee, and A. a bagel with PB. I brought her OJ, but it had pulp so she didn't like it.

We went to Circus Circus to go to the Adventure Dome. Sponge Bob and Ice Age were not working and they didn't even warn us. Annoying! And apparently Pacific Rim broke down twice while the kids were in there. R. and I didn't do any rides. The kids mostly went together, except they had a huge fight on bumper cars. Some of the rides T. was too big for, and some were too scary for A. to want to do. We bought pictures of us at entry, and got ride photos of T. on the coasters.

We went through the main floor to get to the McDonald's in the Midway for lunch. The air in there is really terrible. We got Dippin Dots on the way out. On the way in, we were waylaid by a timeshare salesman and it took a minute to figure out that's what was going on.

I packed up once we were back at the hotel. I bought A. Alto's Odyssey, and R. helped her get it into Zen mode. She was really good at Circus Circus about walking away from all the Claw games, but she wanted me to buy her an ice cream stuffie, so we found one on Amazon that was acceptable. I ordered T. a phone case he wanted. I downloaded the photos from the day's outing, and bought the Hoover Dam photo (which has some weird delay in arriving, which makes me very suspicious).

When I got coffee at the hotel in the afternoon, I picked up a packet of Nestle hot chocolate for A., which she loved. She keeps asking to go to Starbucks for hot chocolate, and it just seems like it might be worth moving her a little downscale if this is going to be a Thing.

I researched restaurants, looking for something in Henderson with craft cocktails AND a kids menu. I also talked to the front desk staff. They pointed me at The District, and I picked out Whist Stove and Spirits, which does not have a kids' menu but does have kid friendly choices on the menu (notably, burgers and chicken fingers). That restaurant was fun! The cocktails were wonderful (R. had the Mezzy Daisy and I had the Upton -- his was a mezcal daisy with chartreuse egg foam on top; mine was a rye drink with amaro and chocolate bitters). The food was fantastic (I ordered the tuna tartare which came with guac in little fried wonton cups, the spring rolls which were great, and a salad with brussel sprouts and nuts and bacon). It's pretty and on trend -- chandeliers, victorian prints and old fashioned furniture. The owners also run Due and Proper next door and one other the name of which I forget. If you are in Las Vegas, check out Whist -- it's amazing.
