R. did not get up again for sunrise, but I did. Single digits again. Brrr. T. and I had breakfast at the Bright Angel restaurant, and we had the same server as we had had at lunch the day before. He asked where the other two were -- good memory!
We checked out. We drove to Kingman and ate at the same McDonald's as on the way out. We tried the other one in Kingman, but the lobby was closed and only the drive thru was open. The windshield wiper fluid has completely stopped working (the fluid had frozen, then R. added cold weather fluid, it worked for a while, then died completely).
We drove to Hoover Dam. We visited the newer visitor center but skipped the second one. We walekd out on the dam. We took pictures. We bought souvenirs in the gift shop. Security confiscated my extremely small pocket knife, which I didn't feel like walking all the way back to the car. They looked like they felt bad about it. Hopefully, one of them will repurpose it.
We drove to Las Vegas and checked into the Residence Inn. Again with the credit card update not propagating, but hey, they got the feather free room request right, and they gave us some goodies (cheese and fruit plate, crackers, doritos, water bottle) for being "Silver".
R. did laundry. We went to BJ's (in Henderson, not in Summerlin this time). Wifi is great; it really is the little things. I updated a bunch of apps. I'm at a 15 day streak in Duolingo. Tomorrow's phone call canceled. T. left his iPad at BJ's and R. and him had to go back for it. Yikes! Dinner was great. I had the Asian salad again, and a cup of the vegan lentil soup with ancient grains. If you eat at BJ's, get that soup! It is awesome, and neither very onion-y or very salty. A. liked the chicken tenders and ate them all.
It was really hot, and after several cold nights, I overdressed A. for bed and it took a while to figure out to fix that before we could get some sleep. T. intervened to ask what all he talking was about and that turned into a whole Thing. We did eventually get some sleep. What I got was more restful than when we were higher up.
